The Taliban in Playful Mood on Pirate Ship in Kabul

“This is Afghanistan!” a Taliban fighter shouts on a pirate ship ride at a fairground in western Kabul.

Taliban fighters pictured wielding RPGs and assault rifles while paddling.

The pictures show activists riding swan-themed ships on the water at Band-e Amir National Park – once a hotspot for international travelers and domestic tourists – in central Afghanistan yesterday.

With AK-47 and M4 assault rifles strapped to their chests, the soldiers cling to colorful steel benches as they are flung back and forth, their scarves and headdresses flapping in the wind.
