Barcelona are trying to extend Joao Felix's loan agreement with Atletico Madrid beyond this season, as per Goal.

The Portugal international joined Barca on a season-long loan in the summer after being informed that he had no role under Atletico boss Diego Simeone.

The 24-year-old scored six goals and provided three assists in 20 appearances for the Blaugrana this campaign.

Barcelona are willing to offer Felix a second loan deal that would see him remain with the Catalan giants until the summer of 2025.

Barca are struggling financially which may complicate any future agreement.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo insists that the Portuguese star will return to the Metropolitano Stadium if Barcelona fail to sign him permanently.
