Al-Ittihad has parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo after their poor start to the season.
Despite leading the Jeddah-based side to clinching the Saudi Pro League title last season, the former Tottenham boss has been sacked.
Al-Ittihad invested heavily in the transfer market and brought in Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Fabinho among others.
However, the team found itself sitting 11 points behind Al-Hilal after 12 games.
The Mirror revealed that the Saudi giants are considering Julen Lopetegui along with Roma boss Jose Mourinho for the post.
The team lost to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 2-0 in the AFC Champions League on Monday which prompted the departure of Santo.
