Young Jordanian singer Yousef Arafat, who was one of the three finalists in Arab Idol, arrived in Jordan last Thursday for the first time in his life.
Yousef who has lived in Kuwait all his life received a huge reception that was not without incident as fans and the media, complete with TV stations, were on standby for him in Queen Alia Airport to cover his arrival.
Yousef then went for a tour in the country which got underway in the North with a big celebration in one of Irbid’s Malls. The celebration was impressively attended by 2,5000 fans, all of whom were lucky enough to enter the mall while the rest of the fans were kept outside.
A number of Jordanian media sources reported a fight that happened in the mall due to the large scramble of people clamoring to see their Idol. Some shops in the mall's parade suffered substantial destruction when the scuffles broke out.
