$130 million invested in UAE desalinizing stations
Local economic sources in the UAE estimate the total investments in water desalinizing projects at $130 million over the past five years, reported Al-Bayan newspaper. According to the report, this includes the establishment of dozens of water desalinizing stations in various manufacturing and services sectors.
In addition, the water desalinizing station for the new investment complex to be built by the Dubai Investment Corporation is expected to receive investments of Dh 1 billion. This large-scale industrial project is expected to grow immensely, and, thus, will need major water desalinizing stations.
Metito Company has begun to build the first water desalinizing station in Dubai, priced at 15 million Emirates dirhams. This station, the first private one of this kind in the Middle East, is being constructed for the Dubai Investment Authority.
Metito Company was also commissioned to build a large station in Indonesia, aimed at supplying drinking water to thousands of workers employed at a local offshore oil excavation project. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
