Al-Khaleej newspaper quoted forecasts on building projects in Abu Dhabi during 2006-2007. Investments in these projects come to Dh 23 billion, up 173% from Dh 8 billion in 2005. Investments in building in 2007 is expected to reach Dh 24.5 billion. Total investments in building during 2006-2007 is expected to reach Dh 47 billion, including commercial and residential buildings and road paving.
All in all, DH 880 million ($240 million) will be invested in new hotels.
