A nationwide plan to rebuild or renovate needy families' dilapidated homes will never be finished at the current rate of progress, a leading councillor has said. According to the GDN, the BD120-million King Hamad Scheme for Dilapidated Houses was launched four years ago, with the target of treating 6,000 homes over five years.
However, it is so slow, people in need will be dead long before their homes are dealt with, noted Northern Municipal Council chairman, Yousif Al Boori.
