Egyptian cement production up 12 percent in 2003
Cement production in Egypt increased by 12 percent in August, reaching 2.7 million tons compared to 2.4 million tons in August 2002, reported Al Alam Al Youm . Total cement production for the first eight months of 2003 increased by six percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 20 million tons.
Cement exports rose from 201,191 tons in August 2002 to 402,254 tons in August 2003. Total shipments abroad from January to August 2003 reached 2.1 million tons compared to 929,301 for the same period last year. — (menareport.com)
