Emaar falls 2.78pc on DFM

Dubai-based real estate giant Emaar Properties on Monday lost 2.78 percent on the Dubai Financial Market index, with the largest traded scrip recording a total value of Dh304.59 million yesterday, and ending at Dh12.25.

 

The DFM index fell slumped 1.63 per cent or 68. 86 points to finish at 4,168.04, with all sectors shedding points by the day’s end, according to Khaleej Times.

 

Transactions totaled nearly 72 million shares valued at Dh540.58 million. Of the 19 scrips traded yesterday, 15 declined, three advanced and one remained without change.

 

The Abu Dhabi Index recorded a slight drop at 0.01 per cent to close at 3,042.07. With the trade volume reaching 29.8 million shares yesterday, transactions were valued at Dh98.6 million.

 

Banks shed 21.74 points to end at 2,397.48 points as the insurance sector declined by 24.62 points to 4,700 points. Investment and real estate sectors also reflected the downturn by dropping 1.72 per cent and 2.5 per cent respectively.
