The President of the Indian group ISPAT, Lakshmi Mittal, is seeking to buy five Algerian state enterprises. The entrepreneur is visiting the capital Algiers at the moment to present to the prime minister and other ministers his plans to buy the state companies Alfatus, Anabib, TPL and EMB. He arrived aboard his own special jet, according to Algerian press sources.
Mittal is a global steel magnet and has built up a huge empire through strategic acquisitions throughout the world. For the past three months, foreign experts have been checking out the Algerian market.
EMB has offices all over the country. TPL is based in Oran, Anabib is based in Ghardaïa.
