Kuwaiti authorities have reportedly considered the establishment of a stock exchange authority and a commercial center, according to Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Trade, Dr. Yusuf Zalzalah.

Zalzalah revealed that the cabinet's finance and economy committee met recently to begin necessary preparations to establish the authority, reported KUNA.

He added that a major goal behind creation of the stock exchange authority is to separate supervision and administration operations and to ultimately develop the bourse.

The meeting was attended by officials from both government and non-government authorities, who discussed a draft law to establish the stock exchange.
