Lebanon's BLOM Bank will launch its banking services in Jordan by mid of next month at one of its branches that will be followed by other seven branches in the Kingdom in the future, according to BLOM Bank (Jordan) General Manager Adnan Sallakh.
Establishing branches of the bank is part of its strategic
plan to increase regional and international presence, Sallakh told Petra.
BLOM Bank, established in Lebanon in 1951 has established
branches in Dubai, Sharjah, Geneva, Paris, London, Cyprus and Syria.
"We are coming to Jordan to become partners in development and cooperation with the Public and the private sector throughout an honest competition whose aim is to serve the public interest and the national economy," Sallakh was quoted as saying.
BLOM has been the biggest bank in Lebanon since 1981 with a total capital of $128,3 million. It ranks first in its assets and in its net profits as well. The bank's net profits in 2003 reached $88.3 million, Sallakh declared.
