The Algerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Said Barkat, has recently arrived for a three-day visit to Morocco following an invitation from his Moroccan peer, Mohand Laenser. The Algerian minister said that there are a number of factors, which encourage the consolidation of Moroccan-Algerian cooperation in the field of agriculture and that agriculture and such cooperation might largely benefit both countries.

MAP reports that one of the major problems to which the Algerian minister pointed out was the problem of draught, which strikes all countries in the Maghreb.
