Tenants are now being charged fees by Abu Dhabi's Department of Social Services and Commercial Buildings Affairs for its various services, Gulf News reported Tuesday.
The department, commonly known as the Khalifa Committee, is now charging Dh100 for the renewal of a tenancy contract and another Dh100 for cashing cheques. Tenants can avoid the fee for cashing a cheque if they pay their full year's rent in cash.
