Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body of Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today announced a comprehensive CSR strategy based on three main pillars: environment, human capital and community.
The restructured policy will consolidate DSO’s on-going activities and set the direction and scope over the long term with regards to CSR. In addition to identifying specific priority areas, the CSR strategy will prepare a matrix of proposed CSR actions and outline immediate next steps for the designated taskforce to action. DSOA will generate a comprehensive sustainability report of the activities within this initiative annually.
The environment component of DSOA’s CSR approach will aim to reducing water and energy consumption, promote recycling, and eventually contribute to mitigating the carbon footprint. The ‘human capital’ aspect will foster the creation of a healthy workplace, while the third aspect of the CSR approach - ‘community’ – will oversee the implementation of engagement programmes and interaction initiatives.

Our restructured CSR initiative is designed to position DSO as a universally recognised technology park that actively supports CSR programmes focusing on the three key concerns worldwide.”

The CSR strategy will draw the participation of employees including senior management as well as customers, partners and suppliers, besides monitoring the impact of the approach on the wellbeing of stakeholders involved in the process. The CSR policy will also offer business benefits for the technology park such as generating new leads, enhancing stakeholder relationship and promoting significant financial and human resource savings.
Dubai Silicon Oasis is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai and operates as a free zone for semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and research and development (R&D) facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.
