Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) recognized employees who achieved the best personal health record and lost the most weight as the internal health awareness program, ‘I Promise’, came to a successful conclusion. The comparison reports of Abdulaziz Al Nadaby and Ghania Al Maawali showed the greatest levels of improvement and both were crowned as the campaign’s champions.
Launched during Ramadhan, the ‘I Promise’ program aimed at introducing the benefits of maintaining a healthy diet and leading an active lifestyle in an effort to rejuvenate and enrich the quality of life of employees. Participants had their blood pressure, blood sugar level and body mass index (BMI) screened and were recommended lifestyle changes suited to their individual fitness requirements. Employees were then tested after two months to measure results.
“The company’s overwhelming support and encouragement strengthened my will to uphold the challenging alterations I have made to my daily routine to be a healthier version of myself,” said Abdulaziz Al Nadaby.
Ghania Al Maawali added, “With ‘I Promise’, we were given the opportunity to take the first steps towards balancing and enhancing our lives both physically and mentally. omanoil awarded the two winners with a Polar Watch which monitors heart rates and a TRX Suspension Trainer, a home workout system on which hundreds of exercises can be performed, to encourage them to continue their health regime beyond the program. In recognition of their pledge to ‘I Promise’, Geometra gym sacks and UMBRO water bottles were given to all staff to promote their new, healthier lifestyles.
