JBR keeps historic Ramadan Cannon Tradition Alive

JBR, the iconic Dubai Properties Group destination in Dubai is celebrating the holy month of Ramadan by placing a traditional Ramadan cannon on The Walk at JBR.

The historical and cultural practice of firing the Ramadan cannon to indicate the daily time for Iftar began in the UAE under the rule of Sultan Bin Saqr in Sharjah (1803 – 1866) and was later introduced in Dubai under the rule of Shaikh Saeed Al Maktoum (1912 – 1958). In the spirits of keeping tradition alive, DPG has been provided a Ramadan cannon by the Dubai Police that will be fired everyday during the holy month of Ramadan on The Walk at JBR.
