Tadawul All-Share Index reaches new record high

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) reached a record high of 3,016 at the end of the first trading session on April 8 continuing the record-breaking trend set by the Saudi Stock Market in the last few weeks.  

 

TASI has now climbed nearly 500 points from its 2002 year-end close of 2,518.08, an increase of about 20 percent on the year to date. The previous record TASI high was 2,927.23, achieved in May 2002.  

 

The daily value of shares traded on April 7 also reached a new high of $708.414 million. The total value of shares traded last week was $2,537.123 million. 

 

The Saudi Stock Market also set other records last week with total trades of 61,580 and 104,128,294 million shares traded. Market capitalization also reached $100 billion, making the Saudi bourse the largest in the Middle East by far and placing it in the top 10 emerging stock markets globally. — (menareport.com)
