Tanmia signs MoU with Emirates Airline
As part of its efforts to step up its operations in training and preparing UAE nationals to enter the job market, the National Human Resources Development
and Employment Authority (Tanmia) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Airline to provide increased job opportunities, supported by appropriate training, to UAE nationals from Tanmia's database of job-seekers.
The MoU was signed recently by Ayesh Al Barguthi, Director, Employment and Skills Development Centre, Tanmia and Fahad Al Hassawwi, Vice President UAE National Human Resources Services, Emirates.
"This partnership with Emirates Airline once again demonstrates Tanmia's success in designing appropriate strategies for helping nationals to join the labour market," said Al Barguthi. "Tanmia has taken the responsibility to develop and implement, at its own cost, a model that includes job-oriented training, screening and placement of UAE nationals in specific industry segments. We have allocated extensive resources for screening candidates and identifying the type of training they need in order to be productive at the workplace."
"The MoU with Emirates Airline provides us with yet another opportunity to diversify our offering for the benefit of hundreds of UAE nationals who have the skills needed to take up employment in various sectors," said Al Barguthi. "Emirates Airlines is a world-class airline with highly developed work processes and training methodologies aimed at developing skills through proven techniques. We are positive many of our UAE Nationals will be able to prove themselves and utilise this opportunity to work with a professionally run airline."
"At Emirates, we fully understand the critical importance of Emiratisation. Already, many of the UAE Nationals employed with Emirates have demonstrated that, given support and training, they can achieve peak performance levels," said Al Hassawwi. "This MoU will lead to more streamlined procedures concerning induction of Nationals into the airline industry, through Tanmia's initiative
and selection methodology. On our part, we will make sure that our teams will provide maximum support and cooperation to ease the induction process of young Nationals."
Under the MoU, Emirates Airline will share with Tanmia details about job openings in order to generate direct employment for UAE nationals. After conducting a six-month training program, it will select candidates from Tanmia's database. It will also collaborate with Tanmia to identify skill or competency gaps and design appropriate training programmes, co-invest in the training of selected job-seekers and provide post-employment feedback to Tanmia.
On its part, Tanmia will liaise with Emirates Airline to identify job requirements, carry out job matching, nominate suitable candidates and work with the airline to develop training programmes to fill competency gaps. Tanmia will provide adequate monitoring of the training programme during its implementation and create a mechanism for post-employment follow-up.
The MoU with Emirates Airline is the latest in a series of tie-ups Tanmia has been establishing with players in different sectors of the economy. Recently, Tanmia entered into similar agreements with DUBAL, Citibank and Emirates Bank to provide training to UAE nationals on a regular basis. (menareport.com)
