Leading names from all sectors of the booming textile industry in Asia and the Middle East will converge on Dubai in March for a new showcase event expected to be of great importance to a multi-billion dollar business employing millions of people across the region.
Industry decision-makers from the Indian sub-continent, Africa, the CIS countries, as well as the Middle East will have the chance to inspect a huge range of advanced equipment and machinery at Textile Expo Dubai, taking place from 20-23 March.
The importance of the exhibition to textile manufacturers, buyers, sellers, distributors and retailers is emphasised by an impressive line-up of exhibitors from Europe, Asia and the Far East.
Among the exhibitors, already confirmed are many of the industry’s major players, including the Saurer Group, Avantec SRL, Fongs, SMIT RIVA, Superba S.A.S, Valentin Rius Clapers and Zimmer Austria.
“We expect the total number of exhibitors to surpass 120, and the list will read like a ‘Who’s who’ of textile industry equipment and machinery manufacturers and suppliers,” said Nick Webb, director of UAE-based event management and marketing specialists, Streamline Marketing, organisers of the exhibition in collaboration with UK-based XPO Events / Turret Group.
Added Webb: “While this is a new exhibition, we’re not surprised by the size and quality of exhibitors as Dubai is located just a short flight away from major textile producers such as India, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt to name a few and offers world-class facilities and easy access.
Apart from the Dubai’s strategic location, the fast growth rate of the textile industry within the Middle East also augurs well for Textile Expo Dubai. “The Middle East is now ranked fourth in the world league of textile exporters, accounting for almost 5.5 per cent of the global trade, so we’re confident the exhibition will become increasingly important in the years ahead both for exhibitors, and the full spectrum of manufacturers, buyers and other industry decision makers,” said Webb.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Minister of Finance & Industry and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Textile Expo Dubai is officially supported by Temsad (Turkish Machinery Association), Kotma (Korean Textile Machinery Association), CTMA (Chinese Textile Machinery Association) and ITAMMA (Indian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association).
The creation of this new shop window for the region’s textile industry comes as manufacturers invest in modernisation to meet the challenge of Chinese competition with the abolition of trade quotas.
