Total employment in Bahrain went up by 5.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2005 to hit 319,154, according to the Economic Indicators publication issued by the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA).
Of these, 282,091 were in the private sector and 37,063 in the public sector, the GDN cited the figures. The employed in the private sector consisted of 67,435 Bahrainis and 214,656 non-Bahrainis while the government sector included 33,433 Bahrainis and 3,630 non-Bahrainis.
