UAE Minister of Economy visits Huawei’s Headquarters

Sheikha Lubna Khaled Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, paid a visit to the headquarters of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Huawei). Mr. Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei, extended a warm welcome to the minister delegation and presented Huawei’s vision to the delegation.

 

In Huawei’s exhibition hall, Minister Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi experienced the 3G service using Huawei’s terminal. Minister Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi expressed that Huawei’s products and technologies left her with a deep and lasting impression and sang high praises for Huawei and the contribution it has made to the development of the telecom industry of U.A.E.

 

Huawei entered UAE in 2002 and has become one of the major suppliers of UAE telecom industry. Huawei establish partnership with Etisalat and Warid Telecom. A rich variety of Huawei’s products have been widely deployed in UAE, such as wireless network (UMTS/CDMA/GSM), Next Generation Network, Multi-Service Access Network, Optical Network and data communications.

 

Huawei built a global strategic partnership with Etisalat. In the end of 2003, Etisalat successfully launched commercial UMTS services with Huawei’s end-to-end solution, and became the first operator to provide 3G services in the Middle East. And Huawei continuously supports Etisalat’s international expansion with the supply and installation of telecom equipment and networks, such as in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan and Tanzania.
