The Yemeni Ministry of Oil and Minerals announced Sunday that the year 2007 will witness drilling of 55 new oil wells and that the rate of Yemenization in oil companies will rise up to 90 percent.
The comments were made during a special forum attended by vice President Abdu Rabu Mansur Hadi. "I would like to make clear that the political leadership pays a special interest in this sector to provide all the required facilitations to bettermake this vital sector function," Hadi said, according to SABA.
He noted that Yemen's economy mostly depends on the oil sector revenues and that necessitates exerting further efforts to continuously increase oil products to set up a good infrastructure in order to pave the way for the exclusive development. He emphasized the significance of qualifying the cadres working in this field so as to cope with the requirements needed to ensure an
active contribution to development, noting that the Ministry of Oil and Minerals has to fulfillits commitments with the oil companies which work in Yemen.
