Are you serious?! Israeli politician calls for "mothers of all Palestinians" to be killed
Upon first glance, the green-eyed Ayelet Shaked looks like a glamorous Israeli parliament member.
But, the extremely right-wing politician attracted unprecedented attention for all the wrong reasons when she said: “mothers of all Palestinians should be killed,” in a bizarre Facebook rant.
Following the controversial parliamentarian’s genocidal comments, Turkey’s Prime Minister Tayyip Recep Erdogan weighed in on the topic by comparing Shaked to Hitler.
"An Israeli woman said Palestinian mothers should be killed, too. And she's a member of the Israeli parliament. What is the difference between this mentality and Hitler's?" Erdogan was quoted saying by Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
On Monday, Shaket stated on her Facebook page: "Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism.
“They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses.
“They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there."
In support of Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip, she added: "They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists.
"They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists."
In response to the 38-year-old’s outburst, an Israeli writer, Mira Bar Hillel, wrote: “Seeing these angelic faces of evil spouting such genocidal rhetoric, I pick up my Israeli passport and a box of matches. “Not in my name, people. Not in my name!”
Over 200 Palestinians and one Israeli have now been killed since Israel launched Operation Protective Edge, targeting thousands of locations across the densely populated Gaza Strip.
