Saudi men: looking for love abroad

Saudi men: looking for love abroad
2.5 5

as a foreigner who was raised in saudi my whole life, i'm pretty aware of the culture. And I must no one can EVER understand the culture unless they've lived there for a long long time. whether it's Saudis or expats who spent a lifetime there, they are the only ones who know how it feels to live in such a Society.

Of course nowadays, since the government fully funds Saudi Students who want to live and study abroad, many of the young gentlemen returning to the country are well educated, cultivated and wordly...If the women don't do the same though, there will be a huge gap.

No stereotyping intended, but the life of a woman in Saudi is mostly about shopping then getting married and pleasing her husband and starting a family. Like the articles states above, (the majority) are not really enlightened. So clearly that would pose a problem in marriage...that is if the future husband isn't a close minded mysogonist who just wants his wife to be his "slave."

Surnames in Jeddah suggest that marriage to foreigners may have been going on since before the establishment of the current Saudi Kingdom.

All countries have people with different attitudes to marrying foreigners. Racists, or people who feel 'the right marriage' is important for social standing. Other men simply want to marry beautiful and smart women. ... Love rather than business.

I don't think Saudi men are all that much different from men from other countries.
