This week Rima Karaki, an anchor on Lebanon’s Al-Jadeed TV channel, hosted Sunni Muslim scholar Hani al-Seba’i, according the Independent.
She was interviewing him about reports of Christians joining Daesh in the Middle East.
When the scholar got side tracked and began rambling irrelevantly, Karaki tried to step in to get him back on track.
He reacted very badly, saying "listen, don’t cut me off. I will answer as I please… what kind of behaviour is this."
Karaki was taken aback. She said, "go on, but do not call me names. In this studio, I run the show."
To which al -Seba’i responded, "are you done? Shut up, so I can talk."
Karaki then quickly pulled the plug on the interview.
But al-Seba’i wanted to get his last word in. Upon his dismal he said, "it’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who… [his microphone is disconnected]."
At the end of the segment, Karaki stated, "either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over."
