Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the Middle East, announced today that it has won the top award for ‘Marketing Department of the Year’ at the eighth annual International Business Awards, also known as the Stevies. The bank was further recognised by the global business awards programme as Distinguished Honoree in the category of Communications or PR Campaign of the Year, for their prominent ‘Truth and Reality’ brand campaign.
Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 3,000 entries received from organisations and individuals in more than 50 nations. Among the other winners and honorees were iconic global brands such as Siemens, Daimler, Cisco, General Motors and Coca Cola.

Honourees were determined through two rounds of judging by 10 specialised committees and close to 200 professionals worldwide, who participated in the judging process.
Emirates NBD’s trophy-winning nomination was for building the leading banking brand in the UAE through an innovative 360 degree marketing approach, which encompasses eight distinct fields. These include consumer insights, product innovation, internal branding, brand activation, events & sponsorships, local area marketing, digital marketing and communications.

Emirates NBD was also recently lauded for its PR/marketing initiatives at the Middle East focused Arab Achievement Awards, when it won top award for Best Marketing/PR Company. It was also named Asia’s Best Brand at 2011 CMO Asia Awards for Excellence in Branding and Marketing, held in Singapore.
The bank will be presented with one Stevie Award trophy and one Distinguished Honoree medal at an awards gala ceremony to be held on Tuesday, 11 October in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
