Qatar Development Bank's TASDEER promotes Qatari export companies in Morocco

TASDEER supported 12 Qatari plastic export companies, who showcased their products and services to over 2,800 delegates and 150 exhibitors

Qatar Development Bank's export development agency TASDEER "is pressing ahead with promoting Qatari non-oil export companies by paving the way for 12 local exporters to showcase their unique products and services to over 2,800 delegates and 150 exhibitors at North Africa's largest and most impressive plastic products fair, Morocco Plast Expo 2013," said a media statement. This year's edition of Plast Expo, which began on Wednesday the 19th of June, is being held at the International Fair Grounds of Casablanca stretching till the 22nd of June.

Qatar is hosting potential trade visitors and international importers at its pavilion at the grounds spanning 144 square meters of space. Participating companies include: Al Khaleej Plastics, Al Bayader Pack Qatar, Haya Plastics, Asima Plastics, Doha Plastics, Gulf Plastic Factory, Hepworth PME Qatar, Qatar German Medical Devices, Qatar polymer Industrial Company, Orient Plastic Containers Factory, Uniplast and Universal Wrapping Manufacturing, according to the statement.

"Also this year, Maroc Export is running a hosted-buyers' program into effect. As a result, high-profile trade visitors from Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Tunisia will attend to discuss business and will therefore lead to significant business prospects for each of these Qatari companies," the statement continued.

Mr. Mansour Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Chief Executive Officer of QDB said: "We have doubled our efforts this year to see our products, services, advisory and support extended to Qatar's private sector players and especially non-oil exporters owing to their role in casting the light on the country's exporting potential, world-class quality standards and global best practices. Plast Expo, amongst other initiatives, we have facilitated this year are integral to the development path of local exporting companies on the accounts of the business value and international exposure such platforms offer to all participants."

Mr. Hassan Khalifa Al Mansoori, Executive Director of TASDEER said: "We've had tremendous success on the first day of Plast Expo with hundreds of business visitors flocking to our pavilion to meet with our Qatari exporters and discuss synergies and opportunities for the future. We've had a very busy year so far and efforts are still in the works to gain further ground for Qatari exporters to thrive on."

Plast expo is a bi-annual event positioned as the Euro-Mediterranean gateway to Africa. Earlier in 2013, TASDEER promoted a market study governing Morocco and pinpointing expansion opportunities for Qatar's exporters. "Morocco boasts one of the biggest plastic products industries and is poised for further grow in the near future," according to to the statement.
