In an unprecedented move, the Azhar Committee has approved the screening of the film Mohammed Khatam Al Anbiyaa (Mohammed the Last Prophet), after previously rejecting any and all such works dealing directly with the Prophet Mohammed.
The film was directed by Richard Richi, according to the Qatari daily Al Rayah, and produced by Bader International Company for Cinema Production, in collaboration with Rich Crest Animation Company.
It explores the life history of the Prophet Mohammed, the way he dealt with unbelievers, and his call for Islam. The film attempts to shed light on the hidden image of proper Islam and the glory of the last prophet, Mohammed.
The 90-minute film’s 196,000 frames do not show the Prophet or his Companions.
Richi began directing children’s pictures 14 years ago.
