A team from the Egyptian TV will travel to Palestine to shoot scenes for the new documentary film Ghosn Al Zaytoun Wa Al Madfaa (Olive Tree Branch and Cannon).
Preparations at the TV Production department are now underway to wrap up the necessary steps for the travel of the team.
“The credit for the film’s theme goes to the Egyptian Minister of Information, Safwat Al Sherif. I was tapped for directing the film by the head of the TV Production department, Medhat Zaki and I previously traveled to Palestine to shoot the film Rihlet Al A’elah Al Mukaddasah (Journey of the Sacred Family),” the film’s director Samihah Al Ghenaimi told the London based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
“I shall shoot the film inside the Al Aqsa Mosque, Dome of the Rock and the Palestinian Border City with Egypt, Rafah. The film is about the siege and uprising,” said Ghenaimi pointing out that she previously collaborated with the film’s scriptwriter Mahfouz Abdel Rahman through the film Kisas Abdeen (Abdeen Stories) which recorded smash hits.
For his part, Zaki said, “Ghenaimi is a special director who has long experience in this field as she has directed many successful documentary films before. The Production department would provide her with all the necessary resources hoping that the film will come out as anticipated. This is due to the fact that it will constitute a call for the Arabs to protect their religious shrines.” -- Albawaba.com
