That hard to classify species with "termites in his smile" and "garlic in his soul," known as the Grinch, played by Jim Carrey learns a thing or two about the meaning of Christmas and the laws of aerodynamics and gravity when gets on a top-heavy sleigh. This time, we learn a thing or two about what makes the Grinch a grouch. The sad, taunted childhood of a hirsute emerald outcast sheds a sympathetic light on the green one's grinchy ways.
This Comedy/Kids/Adventure, Family film is rated PG for some crude humor.
Aside from Carrey, it stars Anthony Hopkins as the narrator, Jeffrey Tambor as the Mayor of Whoville, Christine Baranski as Martha May Whovier, Molly Shannon as Betty Lou Who and Jeremy Howard as Dru Lou-Who.
The film was directed by Ron Howard, written by Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price, based on the children’s book by Dr. Seuss and produced by Brian Grazer.
It was released by Universal Pictures.
In its 6th week out, this record breaking film dropped down another one spot.
Surprisingly, this week of holidays could'nt give this film a push. In fact, it fell another two spots this week.
The Grinch made a clean $7,800,000. In total, the film has so far made $252,500,000.
Its running time is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
