Palestinian singer A’ida Americani has released a new album called Mohammed Ad Durrah, consisting of 10 new songs, according to the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
The album’s name honors of Mohammed Ad Durrah, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who was shot dead in his father’s arms, in a killing for which the Israeli army has admitted it is “apparently” responsible.
The lyrics were written by poets Mahmoud Darwish from Palestine, Shahla Al Kayyali from Jordan and Saad Al Ghariri from Iraq.
Americani has wrapped up shooting a video for the title song, which will be broadcast on a satellite channel.
The singer supervised the direction of the video so that it will be, as she said, a reference point for modern Arabic song.
The song was composed by Ayman Al Hilo and written by the Jordanian poet Shahla Al Kayyali - Albawaba.com
