The workers at Al Ahram Studios were shocked and surprised when Egyptian actress Abeer Sabri came out of her car not wearing the Hijab “Muslim women head cover”.
According to the London daily Elaph, Abeer Sabri is currently filming her scenes in the new drama series “Qoyoud Min Nar” (Cuffs of Fire); therefore, she had heads turning everywhere at the filming site. Sabri was still wearing the Hijab at the beginning of her filming, yet the director was shocked to see her taking it off. The director had nothing to do with Abeer’s decision.
Abeer plays the role of the lawyer Maryiam and a close friend of the leading actress Najwa Ibrahim, who is accused of a mysterious crime. Abeer’s character could be played either way with the Hijab and without; therefore, she could have kept it on.
The actress did not make any comments regarding the reasons behind her decision to take off the Hijab.
