Actress Tayseer Fahmy disputes with airport security officers
As she was leaving to the US with her husband businessman Ahmed Abu Bakr, Egyptian actress Tayseer Fahmy has flared a dispute with the security officers at the Cairo international airport, as the couple was called for inspection.
The Kuwaiti daily, Al Rai Al Aam reported on Sunday that the couple was irritated by the security's demand and opened a fire of anger in the officers' face. "My wife is a well known figure in Egypt and she also holds the US citizenship. It's not appropriate for her to be treated this way," said Fahmy's husband.
The security denied the couple's anger and inspected the luggage, explaining that everyone must abide by the security procedures, which was tightened after the September 11 attacks.
Born as Tayseer Mahmoud Fahmy, the star graduated from the High Institute of Theater Arts in 1978. She debuted on the small screen in 1979 in "Oshaq Taht Al Eshreen" (Lover Under Twenty), and moonlighted in the TV series "Raafat Al Hagan", infront of Egyptian actor Mahmoud Abdul Aziz.
Last August, Fahmy wrapped up shooting her new TV series “Mamar Al Zaman” (Time Path) directed by Mahmoud Hanafi and written by Mohammed Fathi Al Sharqawi. The series belongs to the science fiction genre and revolves around the idea of traveling through time. - Albawaba.com
