The famous Egyptian comedian Adel Imam said that cutting relations between Egypt and Algeria is unwise and will only divide Arab nations. Imam’s statement came in response to the tension between the two nations Egyptian after Algerian fans attacked Egyptian fans following a soccer match in Sudan.
When the Algerian team lost the soccer game against Egypt, Algerian fans attacked Egyptian fans attending the game.
During a recent phone call to the television entertainment show “Al Beit Betak” (This Home Is Yours) Imam said that he was upset with the incident that took place in Sudan, but that he would not let his feelings come between Egyptian and Algerian ties.
He told the Egyptian people to remain calm and that most Algerian people are against such behavior, adding that an Algerian apology is still warranted.
