Ahmad Al Sakka turns down Mariam Fares
Lebanese director Nadine Libky has recently joined the team of the upcoming Egyptian film “The Italian War” starring young Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Sakka. The team of the film had regretfully turned down their nomination to Lebanese singer Mariam Fares after she had requested major changes to the script that could not be altered.
According to the London based Elaph, the scenarist of the film Hazem Al Hadid stressed that Mariam wanted changes in the script to match her personality in reality adding that such modifications to the film were impossible in addition to Ahmad’s demands of not changing anything in the film even if it means loosing some of the cast members.
Nadine was contacted after the incident and she had accepted her nomination immediately finding it a great opportunity to start an acting career, which she had wanted to do for a long time. Egyptian actress Nelly Kareem has as well joined the cast instead of young actress Hala Shiha.
Al Sakka is scheduled to begin shooting the scenes of his upcoming film “The Italian War”, which was previously called “Remote Control”, in the very near future. Ahmad had recently returned from Italy along with Hazem and director Ahmad Saleh to decide on the locations they will use to shoot the half of the scenes that take place in Italy.
The change of names for the film came after a request by the entire cast, who felt that “The Italian War” is a more attractive title for the movie. Recently, Al Sakka has been holding extensive work sessions with the scenarist to finalize the final details of the film.
The remaining cast of the will be Khaled Abu Al Najja, Khaled Saleh, Majdi Kamli, and actor Hussain Yousef in his first appearance away from religious dramas and will play the role of Ahmad’s father in the film.
