Prominent Syrian actor Aiman Zeidan has announced that he will return to the theater, after an absence of twelve years. The actor revealed that his return will coincide with the Damascus Theater Art Festival, which had not taken place in the past sixteen years.
Aiman will supervise the grand opening of the festival and will present a play under the title “Sidi Al General” (Mr. General) which is directed by Aiman himself. The last play the actor had took part in was “Super Market” back in 1992, and was the manager of the theater at the time.
Since the actor left the theater he focused his attention on the small screen and managing the Al Sham International Production company. Disputes between the actor and owner of the company led to a breakup that last for four years. After Aiman left the company he became manager of Oriental Arts Production, but left it recently after disputes with its owner and returned to Al Sham International.
Aiman revealed that television was a temporary stop, despite all his achievements. He added that he truly feels that his soul is on the theater stage regardless of the low wages that are offered.
