Alexandria Festival to Screen Music Videos from 18 Arab States
Music videos from industry legends and rising stars in 18 Arab countries will hit the screen at the second Oscar Video Festival, which will be held in Alexandria July 26 - 30, according to Al Jazeera.
The festival will be held under the auspices of Egyptian Tourism Minister Mamdouh Al Biltaji as part of the country’s Tourism and Shopping Festival.
Awards will be handed out for best song theme, filming style, new voice, tunes, performance, management, music and show design.
Artist Madihah Yusri has been chosen as this year’s honorary festival chief. The higher festival committee consists of Nabila Ubaid, Mahmoud Yasin, poet Mohammed Hamzeh, Madeline Tabar, author Farouq Sabri, musician Hani Shnoudah and Tareq Shararah.
A number of the biggest figures in the Arab World’s arts scene will receive awards for their contributions to Arab culture.
Yasin told Al Jazeera that three concerts would be offered at the festival, including a youth concert at Maamourah beach -- Albawaba.com
