The Algerian film will be presented at the 25th session of the Three Continents Festival to be held between November 26 - December 31, 2003, in the French city of Nantes, Algerie Presse Service (APS) quoted Phillipe Jalladeau, manager of the festival, as saying Thursday.

Jalladeau pointed out, in a joint press conference at the seat of the commission charged of the preparation of Algeria year in France, in presence of Abdo Bouziane, official of cinema department to the commission, that his first visit in Algeria thanks a manifestation devoted to Nantes festival, aims at discovering Algerian films to be presented in the festival on the occasion of Algeria year in France.

After indicating that the aim of the festival is to make known filmmakers of Africa, Asia and Latin America, Jalladeau asserted that he will choose, with the commissariat, Algerian films to be presented in the festival.

He expressed his wish that this manifestation would contribute in reviving Algerian cinema, recalling that Algeria’s last participation in the festival goes back to 1995 with the film “Machahou” by Belkacem Hadjadj.

He hoped to present Algerian films produced in Algeria because, he said, the majority of films were produced, during the last years, abroad for reasons known by all – Albawaba.com
