The Egyptian famous actress Elham Shaheen received an award at the Damascus Cinema Festival for her role in the film “Khaltit Fawzyeh” (Fawzyeh’s Recipe). Shaheen had also received a previous award “The Black Peril Award” for the same film at the ‘Middle East Cinema Festival’ that was held in Dubai last October.

It is needless to say that the film will also enter the competition in the ‘Cairo Cinema Festival’. “Khaltit Fawzyeh” had brought back Shaheen once again to the cinema after an absence that lasted for a number of years.

The film stars Fathi Abed Al Wahab, Ghada Abed Al Razaq and Izat Abu Oof. The film script and scenario was written by Hana Atyeh and directed by Majdi Ahmad Ali.

The film is about a woman that did not finish her education and got married many times searching for the right man, yet all her marriages fail. After giving birth to a new baby she would get divorce and find another man to marry. At the end she realizes that she is better off raising her kids on her own.
