The presence of the famous Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram on the entertainment show “Akher Man Ye’lam” (The Last to Know) which is presented by the Yemeni artist Arwa was not a typical Q and A interview.
The episode with Nancy held many emotions and longing for the past and to the childhood innocence. On the show there were videos of Nancy when she was trying to drive a car at a very young age and another when she was giving a driving lesson to one of her relatives.
According to the London daily Elaph, at the end of the show Nancy confessed that she will retire at age fifty, because at that time she will be a grandmother and she would want to focus more on her family’s interests and needs.
During the episode Nancy denied the rumors about her husband the Lebanese dentist Fadi Hashem to be connected with one of the other artists. She made clear that her husband has celebrity clients both men and women; therefore, he too is affected with such rumors. She also made clear that she doesn’t like to interfere with her husband’s work. As for her music award, Nancy denied what her colleagues have been saying that she had bought the award. She said that if the awards are being sold she would have bought it long time ago.
As for her song “Ana Masri” (I’m Egyptian), Nancy said that she considers the songs as a payback to Egypt and the Egyptian people, because Egypt was the place where she became famous fast and well-known throughout the Arab world.
She also added that she is proud to sing for Egypt and would like to sing for the rest of the Arab countries.
During her confessions, Nancy stated that her business manager Jiji Lamarah wouldn’t have succeeded without her and at the same time she said that without Lamarah she wouldn’t have sang. She said that Simone Asmar who had discovered the majority of Lebanese artist did not believe in her talent at the beginning and considered her very young. He had asked her to come back to him when she was more mature.
At the end of the episode Nancy started crying when a member of her music group who had retired was also a guest on the show. He had retired for being affected with a dangerous sickness and Nancy started crying when she saw him and at the same time Arwa shed a tear when she saw them together.
