Beitiddine Festivals Committee denied that there was any side in Lebanon that called for boycotting Cheb Khaled’s concert in Lebanon, which he will perform in Beitiddine on July 15.

The alleged boycott was said to be in protest for his appearance in one celebration along with an Israeli singer. The celebration was held in Rome for promoting peace between Israel and the Arabs and was attended by the Palestinian president’s advisor, Mohammed Rashid and the Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

“Arrangements for the concert are going on smoothly and tickets are sold as expected and there are no concerns,” the festival’s committee told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.

The Rai king is due in Beirut next Sunday evening and he will hold a press conference after his arrival to answer any questions.

The Egyptian pop singer Hakim and Palestinian musician Simon Shahin will participate with Khaled in his only concert -- Albawaba.com
