Cairo Opera House Ballet Troupe to Portray ‘Zorba the Greek’
The Egyptian Opera House troupe will portray in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Center the international ballet Zorba the Greek at the Grand Theater for one week as of next Thursday.
The show is directed and designed by the Italian international artist Laurca Masin. Cairo Opera orchestra will be led by the Italian Maestro Georgi Crotchi with the renowned Polish director participating in the direction.
Among the troupe stars are Hani Hasan, Ahmed Yahya and Waleed Abdel Wahab in addition to Arimina Kamel, Natyana and Alexandra.
“The show will take the opera troupe to an international platform through portraying a modern performance after it proved itself in classical works,” The director of the Art House, Abdel Mene’m Kamel told the daily al Ahram.
Zorba is a Greek ballet based on the well-known story Nikos Kazantzaki from the Greek literature. The show will not only be a dance performance but also a drama that blends between dance, music and singing -- Albawaba.com
