Lebanese singer Carol Samaha has just completed shooting her latest music video “Ghali” (Dear) under the direction of Caroline Libky. The song is part of Carol’s upcoming album “Ana Hurra” (I’m Free), which is scheduled to hit stores after the Muslim holiday Eid El Fitr.

According to the London based Elaph, the singer has cooperated with some of the brightest composers and poets from around the Arab world. Carol revealed that she plans on filming a music video for a Khaligi (Gulf) song, which is a first time experience for her, stressing that she is hopeful it will meet the satisfaction of her fans. The singer added that she also filmed a clip for the song “Habait Dil Waqt” (I Just Loved Now) sung in the Egyptian accent and will be used in a new Egyptian movie.

Samaha was recently in Cairo where she held work sessions with director Othman Abu Laban, who sent her a special invitation, to discuss singing two songs for his upcoming film “Ahlam Umrina” (Our Life’s Dreams). The director presented the singer with two songs written especially for the film, which stars Egyptian actress Muna Zaki and Mustafa Shabaan, stressing his interest in having her sing them.

Carol sang the songs, which fall under the romance genre due to the nature of the film. Carol’s voice will only appear in the film, but she will be filmed singing them in order to present the songs in the form of a video clip with actual scenes from the movie to be aired on different music channels. Carol revealed that she is also currently holding other work sessions with a number of poets and composers as part of her preparations for her upcoming album. –Albawaba.com
