Former Egyptian belly-dancer Dina has revealed that she has completely put her previous belly-dancing and acting careers behind and has now ventured into the world of commerce. She has opened her private office in the Mohandiseen neighborhood of the Egyptian capital city - Cairo - from which she will be taking care of her new business. Dina had decided to cut-off all contacts with the entertainment world, and as such, decided to change her phone numbers, making her knew ones only known to a very small circle of friends.
According to the Al Maw'id Magazine, Dina has been thinking of becoming a business woman for many years now, even before she ever thought of quitting her dancing career. She has been doing intensive research on what would be the most suitable line of business for her, in addition to researching potential projects that may help her kickstart her new career.
Dina is also attending religion classes held at the homes of former actresses, singers, dancers etc. who had also ended their careers and instead, sought complete dedication to God and the religion of Islam. The former dancer also announced that she will be holding some religion classes at her home in the very near future.
Dina has recently denied rumors of a possible return to the entertainment world and refused to hold any televised interviews. A number of TV stations have requested a one hour interview with Dina to talk about her previous sex-video scandal (with Egyptian business man Hussam Abu Al Futooh) and her decision to end her career, but she refused all offers.
Some stations went as far as to offer Dina over fifty-thousand US dollars to hold an interview, however Dina stressed that she is not willing to undermine her 'Hijab' for the sake of 'meaningless money'. She added that she has devoted her life to God and Islam, and has 'progressed and matured' a lot since the days prior to the 'scandal'. Dina commented that the past is now behind her and she prefers to never talk about it wanting to forget it all together, and that she is a changed and new person now who intends to dedicate her life to God.
In February, Dina returned from Saudi Arabia after performing the Muslim pilgrimage (Hajj) wearing a Hijab (Headscarf) and announcing an end to her dancing and acting careers. A previous decision by the Saudi embassy in Egypt had prohibited Dina from setting foot on Saudi soil but was overridden at the last minute.
Following the scandal, the former dancer refused to make any comments to the public isolating herself at her home in Muhandiseen-Egypt with her son Ali, who is from her late husband - director Sameh Albajouri. Dina had announced before her pilgrimage that she was thinking of putting an end to her career after the recent sex scandal she was involved in, and finally made the decision while she was in Mecca.
Dina had accompanied her mother to Saudi Arabia to complete the fifth pillar of Islam Hajj. She decided that Hajj would be her only option to escape the controversy and scandals surrounding her at the time.
Dina filed a lawsuit against ex-husband Hussam Abu Al Futooh for violating her rights while married to him, including filming pornographic acts of her without her prior knowledge. Dina stressed that she intends to take Hussam to court for the fact that it is against the law for a man to film his wife in such intimate circumstances.
Late last year rumours started surfacing about Dina and her sudden departure from Cairo-Egypt to hide away in Paris-France after her involvement in pornographic videotapes was revealed. A number of videotapes were found in Abu Al Futooh's apartment containing obscene and provocative scenes of her. –Albawaba.com
