Egyptian belly dancer Dina was hosted as the guest of honor on the weekly TV talk show on Dream satellite station with Hala Sarhan, in her first public live appearance. Throughout her televised interview, Dina talked openly and bravely about the ordeal she had been living the past six months starting from her involvement in the pornographic video tapes, and up to her recent return after her disappearance from the scenes.
According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Hala made the atmosphere of the show comforting for Dina in order to have her talk freely about the continuous problems she had been experiencing without feeling any pressure. In fact Dina talked about every instance she had experienced, at times breaking out in tears. The audience sympathized with her at times and blamed her at others depending on the issues. Dina had admitted that she did not flee Egypt when the porno films were first out, but had gone away to find peace of mind.
Dina had also revealed that she does not find secret marriages to be a taboo and that if the occasion calls for it she does not have a problem with doing it again. The dancer stressed that she never resigned from her career but rather took time off to relax from all the commotion. She added that she never took off the Hijab (Islamic headdress) for the fact that she never wore it to start with. Dina said that she is not ready to put on the Hijab due to the fact that it requires full devotion, which she is not yet ready for.
The dancer talked about how the media is to blame for all the commotion that has recently occurred and that it made her problems seem much larger than they really were. She said that tabloids exaggerated the films made of her to a point which was unbearable.
Dina concluded the show with saying that she is now facing some problems with some debts that have accumulated due to her short break from her work, and she is planning on working extremely hard to pay it all back. She added that her only concern in life is the well being of her son, who she will make sure she provides him with all his needs. Dina also thanked all those who stood by her throughout the ordeal and did not criticize her negatively.
Dina is currently working on releasing and publishing her first collection of poems which she has written throughout the past years. Writing poetry, claims the dancer, has been one of her hobbies for a very longtime next to dancing.
Dina has vowed to publish the collection using her own budget to assure that it is up to standards and to ensure its success. The idea has been with Dina for some time but was delayed previously. Her collection of poems was mostly written during high school and the rest at a more mature stage. The language is a mixture of formal Arabic and slang, according to the topic of each one.
Dina added that her poetic gift surfaced when she was at a very young age, and participated numerous times at school events, but she put it aside when she started to attribute the talent of dancing. Dina revealed that she has in fact resigned from as a dancer despite her decision to return to the entertainment world. She said that she is on the verge of opening her house of fashion as a new attempt to acquire the true essence of a businesswoman.
It was rumored that Dina took off her Hijab last month and announced her return to the entertainment world after her resignation. Dina has revealed that her return will begin with her acting in several different works in the cinema and on theater stages. Egyptian film producers have begun rushing to the doorstep of the belly dancer with numerous offers to star in films. Dina has so far received over ten different film scenarios, some of which are being filmed at the moment.
Despite the fact that Dina had completed the fifth pillar of Islam (Hajj) and wore the Hijab, it appeared that all that was done just to cover-up for her involvement in the porn scandal with her ex-husband Hussam Abu El Fotooh. The dancer had also announced earlier that she would begin a career in business but she realized that it would not be a success since her real talents lay in dancing and acting alone.
Dina had filed a lawsuit against Hussam for violating her rights while she was married to him and making pornography films of her without her knowledge. Dina stressed that she intends to make sure that Hussam pays the price for the fact that it is against the law for a man to film his wife in such an indecent circumstance, and in fact Dina was ecstatic when Hussam was sentenced to a one-year prison term after he was found guilty of the charges against him. –Albawaba.com
