After 25 years of absence, the Egyptian cinema is scheduled to return to the Moscow Film Festival with the film “Asrar Al Banat” (Girls’ Secrets) directed by Magdi Ahmed.

The Egyptian Festival Committee has also nominated the Film “Al Nather,” directed by Sharif Arafeh, to participate in the media section of the festival, which will be held next July, the daily Al Sharq Al Awsat said.

Meanwhile, the chamber of the Egyptian Cinema Industry is considering taking part in the festival with a number of films that represent the various stages of the sector. A large Egyptian cinema delegation, including a number of cinema stars and Egyptian directors, is expected to participate in the festival.

The Egyptian cinema has previously won many awards at this festival. Yousef Shahin won kudos for his films “Jamila Bou Hraid” and “Haddoutah Misriyyah” (Egyptian Story). In addition, the film “Sawwaq Al Autobees” (Bus Driver), directed by late Atef Al Tayyeb, also won many awards - Albawaba.com
