Although the film criticizes severely an Egyptian minister, the censorship has agreed on Wahid Hamed’s scenario of the film Maali Al Wazeer (His Excellency, the Minister).
Film star Ahmed Zaki is nominated to costar in the new film, along with either Laila Olwi or Nabila Ebeid.
The film depicts the life history of Abdel Hakim Amer, the former Egyptian Defense Minister during the tenure of the late president Gamal Abdel Naser.
Zaki and Hamed are currently holding frequent meetings to gear up for the film to be directed by Sherif Arafeh.
Maali Al Wazeer is the first film to be produced by the Media Production City Company headed by the new Cinema Association Chief, Mamdouh Al Laithi, who allocated 4 million pound for the film production.
