The famous Egyptian comedian Ahmad Helmi’s new film “Masr Hey Odti” (Egypt Is My Room) has been refused by Egyptian censors for the first time in his career.

“Masr Hey Odti” (Egypt is My Room) was found to mock and insult Egypt. The censorship committee said they had granted permission for a film titled “Jawaz Safar Masri” (An Egyptian Passport) to me made, but were surprised that the title of the film had changed.

“Masr Hey Odti” is about an Egyptian photographer who immigrated to the United States with his family when he was a little child, and is later forced to return to Egypt.
