Under a new direction vision by Jihan Murci, the Opera House Troupe presented the international story The Sound of Music in a concert last Thursday at the Grand Theater and will present a second concert Sunday evening at the same place.

“The show constitutes musical and singing extracts from the famous film The Sound of Music along with a number of musical instruments including rhythmic instruments and piano. The concert is presented for the first time by Cairo opera through one chapter. The set is based on a simple background of musical instruments and a number of shots from the film,” Murci told the daily al Ahram.

She added, “Cairo Opera Orchestra led by the Egyptian maestro Nair Naji participates in the show in which a number of Cairo Opera stars take part. These include Nivin A’lloubah, Raouf Zaidan, Jaclyn Rafiq, Elhami Amin, Gala al Hadidi, Ezabella Fayed, Sara Anani, Tamer Tawfiq and Angie Mohsen.”

The international story is about a nanny who penetrated the life of a father and his sons and daughters and gets surprised with the father’s reservations towards her. Ultimately she manages to change the life of the man and his sons and daughters and succeeds in raising up their artistic and musical taste -- Albawaba.com
